SupaMoto Energy was founded in 2010 by Swedish entrepreneurs Mattias Ohlson and Per Lofberg, in partnership with Zambian entrepreneur Gabriel Mumba, and other Zambian entrepreneurs who have since moved on to other things.
Passionate about environmental causes and the potential they saw for Zambia's development, Mattias and Per founded SupaMoto (then Emerging Cooking Solutions) as a way to bridge the power of new technologies with the needs of the country. They have spent years adapting and refining, working with Zambian families who use SupaMoto to create the best possible product and respond to the country's needs. Their team has grown from 3 to 25 employees, whose passion for SupaMoto and knowledge of Zambia helps the company grow and become better every day. Mattias's wife and business partner Marion Peterson joined the company in 2013—they both love Zambia and have been living in Lusaka since 2013.
